Who we are…
RightCare was initially founded in 2000 as the Wake County Medical Society Community Health Foundation. While our programs offered have changed over the years, our core commitment has always remained the same – to connect uninsured patients with a network of primary care and specialty providers to ensure the most vulnerable in our community get the right care at the right time. RightCare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Jennifer Brighton
As the Executive Director, Jennifer is a trusted partner and collaborator with stakeholders in the healthcare community with a shared mission to serve the underinsured and uninsured populations. Jennifer represents RightCare and the population it serves as a member on numerous public/private collaborative committees focusing on initiatives that afford all residents equal opportunities for healthcare and optimal living.
Jennifer has degrees in Art and Business Administration Management. In addition to her professional life, she has enjoyed a volunteer career that began when she was 8 years old and credits much of her professional acumen and closest relationships to her experiences and lessons learned through volunteering.
Her broad experience includes designing and implementing initiatives and policies around program development, performance management; employee and stakeholder relationship management; organizational culture and change management. Jennifer is originally from Lancaster, PA, and lived in SC before eventually moving to Wake County.
She has called Raleigh “home” for many years and shares her home with her two dogs, Whisky and Islay.
Caitlin Robinson
As the Administrative and Program Support, Caitlin is an integral part of both the RightCare organization and the Project Access program. She may be more behind the scenes to our partners and clients, but internally, Caitlin is the glue that keeps us together and running smoothly.
A Raleigh native with eight generations of family ties to the community, Caitlin is passionate about serving the uninsured and underprivileged in the area. She is a nurturer and always willing to offer help. Caitlin is committed to professional excellence and has made sure she has the knowledge to step in for all of us when needed.
Caitlin is a lover of all things nature-related and loves to express her creative side through painting and crafting beautiful wreaths in her spare time. A fun fact about Caitlin is she loves to cook for others! She fashions recipes into healthier alternatives, but she will always find a way to incorporate one of her favorite foods, cheese!
Rosa Almanzar
Rosa is a Community Health Worker and a Spanish Medical Interpreter with over 20 years of experience working with the under and uninsured populations. She has been dedicated in her work with the Project Access program providing patient education, medical interpretation, and community outreach services.
As a Spanish Medical Interpreter, she facilitates communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients. She is committed to providing accurate and efficient interpretation services to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Rosa is passionate about being an advocate for patients while providing education and coordinating access to health care. As a resident of the community she serves, Rosa has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that exist for the underserved and marginalized in our community. She is committed to empowering individuals to take charge of their health and well-being.
In her free time, she enjoys trail walking, reading and spending time with her family.
Ana Martinez
Ana is a Community Health Navigator under RightCare’s Project Access program. She has been with RightCare for over 5 years transitioning from a Referral Coordinator into her current role after obtaining her Community Health Worker certification in 2022.
Ana is passionate about helping the community that she grew up in and is grateful to have the opportunity to offer help to those who need it. She works closely with the team and other community partners navigating patients without a doctor to a free or affordable primary care home. Ana also provides support to patients who need help learning how to navigate the healthcare landscape in her role as a Community Health Navigator.
From the start, she has aspired to reach and help as many in the community as possible who need help getting access to the medical care needed. Her passion has always been to serve and given the opportunity through her work, you can see her excitement when she is able to do this and much more.
In her spare time, Ana enjoys spending time with her loved ones, a little retail therapy and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
Ivan Antunez
Ivan is a devoted Community Health Navigator on the RightCare team under the Project Access program. He entered the community health sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, leveraging his experiences during this time to drive positive change.
Acknowledging the vital need for health advocates in Wake County, Ivan brings a wealth of diverse life experiences to his work. Personally benefiting from non-profits and community health organizations during the early years of his life, Ivan actively gives back through his work and volunteering. With a lifelong connection to community organizations, his primary focus is supporting underserved marginalized communities, breaking down barriers, and providing a well-informed healthcare perspective.
Beyond his impactful work, Ivan finds an escape in artistic expression through sculpting and drawing. While enjoying horror movies and informational podcasts, he cherishes quality time with his family and playful dogs during his free time.
Vianey Carranco-Morales
Vianey is a Program Support Specialist in processing and managing Project Access enrollments and referral requests for the uninsured population needing medical care.
Vianey enjoys working with the community and being able to participate in a program that is helping so many people change their lives. She is passionate about coordinating medical care needed for the uninsured and marginalized that would not be available without RightCare’s Project Access program.
“Many of our clients have a lot of barriers to accessing healthcare. I am originally from Mexico and being Spanish/English bilingual, it makes me feel good to be able to help lessen the language barrier that exists for most of our clients. Helping clients find their way encourages me to do my job the best way I can.”
Vianey moved to the US as a child, she has lived in California, and Raleigh NC has been her home for more than 10 years. She loves to cook, dance, and listen to music which is always playing gently in the background when you talk with her.
Ubani Asiegbu
As a Data Analyst, Ubani provides analytic expertise and support to the Executive Director and other RightCare program staff. Ubani also assists in the development of new ways to explore, report, and interpret quantitative and qualitative information, and she provides the tools and information required to successfully enhance our respective programs.
Ubani has been providing and advocating for patients in Raleigh/Durham and surrounding areas for over 16 years. She graduated from NC A&T with a BS in Computer Science, worked as a Systems Engineer, and transitioned into the HR/IT space as a Consultant.
She loves shopping, collecting antiques, traveling with her three boys, and working with nonprofit organizations to provide resources to her community both in the United States and abroad.
